In 2022 we successfully completed our new fire station project. The construction started with the demolition of our previous station in May of 2021. An aggressive timeline of 6 months allowed us to return to a warm home again by the beginning of 2022. During the construction, we utilized a cold storage facility built on the same site as well as another building off-site to house our emergency vehicles during construction.
The rendering on this page depicts the early plans of the proposed station. The finalized buidling is very similar to the rendering, with some adjustments made along the way. One of the significant changes was the addition of the Roger Geiser museum that allows us to house our 1951 engine as well of many other memorabilia items from years past.
From the start, we want everyone to know this was a community project, not just a fire department project. It took a multitude of community donations ranging from monetary to time to services that allowed this project to be completed. Without our community support, we would not have the great facility that we have today.
We also have a virtual tour of the facility that allows anyone to visit us right from this page. At the bottom of this page you'll find the virtual tour.
From all of us at the Kidron Volunteer Fire Department, thank you for your support with our building project!
